Getting to the top of any mountain can be tricky! Sometimes we will start our adventures there if our truck can access the top, but sometimes the only way to get there is with my off-raod vehicles and of course with the dogs. This mountain top at Stony Valley Pennsylvania is a State Game Lands trail so vehicle access was restricted. Therefore we rode the Swincar as the dogs mushed along. Mountain climbing is to me, one of the most challenging exercises the dogs can do. They actually love it and engage it so well. This is the perfect example of why I created DogMotoSports. CLICK HERE TO GO TO DOGMOTOSPORTS You see there was really no way to let a dog exercise by running steep grades and inclines without letting he or she off-leash. My dogs are trained for off-leash (Free-Ranging) but I'm an exception as almost all huskies should NEVER be off leash in uncontrolled areas as they will take off. Even as my dogs are capable I don't want to chance interfering with other trail users as well as there are other potential problems with doing this off-leash. That being said, there's really no feasible way to work the dogs like this without the assistance of an off-road capable motorized vehicle. This way you have them under your control and they don't have to pull while they get one of the most INTENSE workouts for them possible. On the top of the mountain here it was desolate and oh so beautiful!
